Now his kingdom had many treasures, but its greatest prize was Princess Daphne, the King's only child. Brave Knights and handsome Princes came from afar just to pay her court, for she was a maiden of exceeding beauty and grace. But, though they laid vast riches at her feet and pleaded most earnestly for her hand, Princess Daphne refused them all. For her heart had long been given to another... Dirk the Daring, the King's champion and bravest Knight. Then one dark day, Singe, an evil dragon who ruled over a shadowed land, appeared in Aethelred's kingdom and demanded that the king deliver up his kingdom and people to him. When Aethelred refused Singe's vile demand, the monster kidnapped the beautiful Daphne and imprisoned her in a crystal sphere in the horrible dungeons beneath his enchanted castle. Singe then sent Aethelred this message: Relinquish your kingdom before the setting sun or your beloved daughter will perish. Aethelred and all the people of the kingdom were plunged into despair. Dragon's Lair Part 2: Escape from Singe's Castle	ReadySoft (Sullivan Bluth Interactive Media)	1990	Just a short time ago Dirk the Daring rescued the beautiful princess Daphne and returned her to King Aeithelred her father. The Kingdom rejoiced at the return of their princess and the peace the has been secured for the kingdom. Dirk being made of sterner stuff decides to return to the dragon's lair to seek his fortune from the Lizard King's domain which lies deep within the castles depths. It is rumoured that a pot of gold coins is there for the taking that will give wealth beyond dreams. However there are drawbacks, the Lizard King does not take kindly to visitors entering his domain and has enchanted the pot of gold with a magic spell. If Dirk does manage to collect the gold he will have to face many perils before encountering the mud monsters. While this was intended to let the user display the image how they preferred on a 4:3 monitor or TV, it had the unintended effect of allowing square pixels and an undistorted image when viewed anamorphicly on a 16:10 monitor.
